National Accounts Manager
Materials Handling & LIft Truck Expert in Washington
I was born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, and grew up in a small cottage town called Keswick Ontario, off the coast of Lake Simcoe. I learned how to sell and market myself at a very young age. I grew up in a very humble lifestyle and my parents taught me young that if I wanted something, all I had to do was work for it. They instilled a work ethic in me that was the blueprint for my personal and business successes for the rest of my life. I tried multiple careers, including machinist, graphic arts, and then finally industrial sales for a very large rental company. After five years, a “Head Hunter” contacted me and recommended me for a forklift position for Johnston Equipment; the Raymond Distributor for all of Canada. It was at this time, that I also met my wife and started a family.
I joined G.N. Johnston in 1989 as a Territory Sales Person for Edmonton and Northern Alberta. After seven years, my manager approached me with the opportunity of Sales Manager for Air Mac Material Handling in the Northwest, being responsible for the sales growth in Seattle and Portland as well as the surrounding areas in the Northwest. After managing a sales team for fourteen years, I was fortunate enough to be offered a unique opportunity. My new role was National Accounts Manager, handling key accounts for Raymond Handling Concepts in the Northwest and national accounts for the Raymond Corporation out of Greene New York. Today my focus is National Accounts Manager for Raymond Handling Concepts as a materials handling and lift truck expert in Washington, helping to grow and support key accounts in the Northwest and hopefully “Paying it Forward” to mentor those new “up-and-comers.”
A PERSONAL NOTE
With the support and dedication of my wife, I was able to watch my kids excel and grow both scholastically (both Honors students) and athletically, as well – my son was a state champion swimmer and our daughter a Division 1 softball catcher.
