I was born in upstate New York, Waverly, New York to be exact, and 60 miles from the Raymond factory. However, I only lived there a short time, moving to Texas at age 7. I am from a family of five children, four boys and one girl and my father was from a family of four girls and one boy. My father was born in Waverly and my mother is French Canadian. Probably one of the more interesting facts about my family is that my grandmother was from a family of 29 children! I graduated from Texas State University with a double major in Political Science and in History as well as with a minor in Business Administration. Texas State is where I met my wife Kim.

I joined Malin in June of 1989 as a Walkie Specialist. Raymond had just introduced a new pallet truck line manufactured by Raymond for the first time in many years and the dealers were creating a dedicated sales force for this product. The program failed miserably and so did I, and eventually we were all promoted to Core Sales. In 1991, I transferred to San Antonio to run the south Texas territory. We started with a 10 x 10 office suite with no shop and two technicians for an area larger than many states. After 8 years, I was managing all of south and central Texas for Malin including El Paso and Mexico and we had increased our employee base to over 50 with three office/service center shops. In 2000, I was promoted to Vice President and transferred to the Houston location, the second largest market for Malin. We were successful in substantially raising marketshare and profitability during my 5 year tenure. In 2005, I accepted the position of Vice President at Raymond Handling Solutions (RHSI) in Los Angeles, California and became the Dealer Principal in 2010. Since 2011, RHSI has been awarded Dealer of Distinction every year and a leader among the Raymond dealers in market share and profitability. In 2014, we purchased the Raymond dealership for Arizona, Handling Systems. The combined companies are over 460 employees and $225 million in revenue.

We have three children, Jimmy, who graduated from University of Arizona with a Business degree, has been in Core Sales with RHSI the last 4 years and enjoying a very successful career. Whitney, who loves animals, particularly dogs (we think she is a dog whisperer), manages a dog daycare and boarding facility in Mesa, AZ and graduated from Texas State University in 2017 with a Ranch Management Degree. Hayley, our youngest, graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA Cum Laude and with a degree in nursing last month. Kim and I have been empty nesters for four years and we have enjoyed more leisure travel with all the business travel I have for my job. When I am not thinking about Raymond forklifts, I’m enjoying golf, working out at OrangeTheory and sitting on the board of a non-profit called Giving Children Hope that provides disaster relief to children and families in need around the world, as well as Orange County.
