ProMat Survival Guide: 4 steps to surviving the show

Every three months our entire sales team gets together at one of our nine branches for a team meeting. We spend two busy days together. The first day consists of meetings reviewing new developments at Raymond and in the marketplace, while the second day is the certification of what Raymond Handling Concepts Corporation calls “Black Belt Training”.

The purpose of Black Belt Training is to provide the Sales team at Raymond Handling Concepts (RHCC) with the in-depth training they need to continue to be a valued resource for our customers. It takes two years, or eight quarters, for sales representative at RHCC to certify as Black Belts in all eight areas of materials handling knowledge:

  1. Dock lift trucks
  2. Narrow and Very Narrow Aisle Forklifts
  3. Pallet trucks and stackers
  4. Pallet Rack and warehouse accessories
  5. Aftermarket support and Parts consignments
  6. iWarehouse wireless fleet management system
  7. Integrated Systems and warehouse automation
  8. Management, listening and communications skills

To continue the intensive Black Belt Certification training for the first quarter in 2015, Raymond Handling Concepts Corporation is bringing the entire sales team to Chicago for the 2015 ProMat show, the largest materials handling show in North America.

That’s right. Raymond Handling Concepts Corporation is bringing 38 people from Sales, Management and Marketing to ProMat in order to continue to learn more about Materials Handling and source other high quality products to complement the RAYMOND brand of electric forklifts.

To maximize our time at ProMat, and to ensure we visit key manufacturers during our time in Chicago, the Marketing team has put together the ProMat Survival Guide 2015. The guide is designed to help with:

How to maximize your time at ProMat 2015

Make a plan for the trade show

ProMat is one of the biggest materials handling trade shows in the world and can be overwhelming if you have not made a plan. Make a list what exhibitors you want to see before heading through the doors. If you are not sure which companies will have a booth, visit the exhibitor list on the ProMatShow.com website.

Make sure you are logged in while browsing the exhibitors on ProMatShow.com. The calendar icon by an “Add to My Agenda” tab is a great tool for creating a plan, but can only be used if you are signed in to the site. This tab will allow you to add exhibitors to your calendar and give you the option to set times that you want to stop by their booth. It will also allow you to put Seminars you want to attend in your calendar. It also allows you to add custom agenda items such as vendor appreciation events, lunches, meetings or travel information. The calendar syncs with the ProMat 2015 app, which can be downloaded from the iPhone App Store – Promat 2015 or Google Play – Promat 2015.
