How to get a tech to service your forklift and equipment

When your forklift or equipment breaks down it can sometimes slow down operations. RHCC knows this can be stressful for everyone involved and we want to make the repair process as quick and easy as possible. When you need a technician right away, here is the procedure to follow.

Step 1: Contact your local RHCC dealer

If you have previously purchased a lift truck or equipment from Raymond Handling Concepts, you can find a local contact number on a sticker placed on the truck. If you have a smart phone you can download the Raymond Handing Service Request app. The service app allows you easy access to phone numbers, email and information about RHCC. It also allows you to submit a repair request, complete with photos, if you have registered the app. The app is free to download to your Android devices and iPhone. Download it from the iTunes App Store or Google Play. You will need a user name and password from RHCC to use the app.

Step 2: Give detailed information on the issue that needs servicing

This is the most important step in helping a technician resolve your problem on the first call. If you are a registered user of the Raymond Handling Service Request app, you’ll be asked to provide four pieces of information. This same information is also requested when if you call or email RHCC:

  1. Truck information including the model number, serial number and customer unit number.
  2. Service required (in the app, you can select from a drop-down list).
  3. Description of service requested. The app includes a place in which you can describe the problem or service request. be sure to include any error codes showing on your equipment).
  4. A photo of the problem. The app will allow you to upload it to RHCC.

Once you have entered this information, simply press Submit and service will be on its way. Remember, the more information you can provide for the technician, the faster the tech can complete the service.

Step 3: Prepare for the tech to arrive

Once the tech arrives, he or she will troubleshoot the problem. If the issue can be fixed with the tools and parts in the van, you can be back to work that same day. If the technician is unable to service the equipment in a four-hour time period, it’s recommended the equipment be brought to an RHCC shop by our technicians. Four out of five times, the issue can be resolved on the first call.

Step 4: When additional parts are needed

If parts are required, you will be asked authorize the additional parts needed by using a parts order form. As soon as the part arrives the tech will be back to install the part.

If you have signed up for a Comprehensive Fixed Price Maintenance agreement with RHCC and the equipment cannot be fixed in 24 hours, we will supply you with a free rental truck until the original is in working condition and returned to your site.
