Six steps to buy a forklift online

Materials Handling StoreYou can buy anything online these days. Including an 8,000-pound forklift. But are you getting the best deal for your money? Is the seller trustworthy? How do you know you’re getting the best price for shipping? And is that particular forklift the right truck for your application, anyway?

There are so many questions that go into buying a forklift. Combined, they can make an online purchase more than a little overwhelming.

You may have all these questions, but here’s an exciting answer: this is to announce the grand opening of our online Materials Handling Store! You’ll be able to buy anything from a battery watering system to orderpickers here. We’re making it easy for you. We know that whenever you needed a forklift or other material handling goods, a sales representative would come to you and help you make the right choice. We’re not that much different online.

Meet the materials handling experts. The email address and phone number listed go directly to our office so you know you’re getting personal interaction.

We’ve broken down our online forklift buying process for you. Here are six steps to go through while purchasing a large item in the Materials Handling Store:

1. Find the right forklift online

In the Materials Handling Store, you will find new forklifts, used forklifts and an option to rent forklifts. Each of these forklifts is listed with their specifications. You’ll know the capacity, fork lengths, mast heights, battery voltage and the bells and whistles that may come with the truck. We’ve also divided the trucks into collections for you, so you can easily pick from orderpickers, counterbalanced trucks, pallet jacks and reach trucks.

2. Purchasing a lift truck online

After finding the truck for your application, simply add it to your cart and proceed to checkout, just as you would in any other online store.

3. Shipping prices for buying a forklift online

Once the purchase has been made, someone from our team will follow up. This is to avoid being overcharged on shipping. We’ll want to know the basics such as: where do you want your truck delivered? We’ll also want to know if you have a dock and if so, what’s the dock door height, if you have a dock leveler, dock plates. We will also ask a few questions about your ramp door. We’ll also ask if your building is running on single phase or 3-phase power. Shipping prices will vary depending on the answers to these questions, but we ask you to answer them honestly. It’ll save you money and time.

4. Renting a forklift online

Some of our trucks have rental options. You’ll see a big “Rent Me” button on that truck’s page. This will be put into your cart at no price. That’s because before renting a lift truck with Raymond Handling Concepts, you need to sign a rental contract. Make the purchase as you would make any other, and someone from our team will be in touch with you. We’ll ask you how long you want to rent the truck for. This is so you’re not locked in at a month-to-month rate when you could be eligible for a discounted rate, depending on the length of rental.

5. A visit from an RHCC representative

One of our local lift truck experts will want to make an appointment with you to make sure the truck you purchased in the web store is what you need. This is just to make sure your building is tall enough for the order picker, aisles wide enough for the counterbalanced trucks, racks are suitable for reach trucks etc. We like to call it a site survey.

6. Return policy

Everyone at Raymond Handling Concepts want you to be happy with your purchase. That’s why we offer a replacement or full refund within the first 30 days of your purchase. Please be aware that freight is not included with the return.

Keep checking back to the Materials Handling Store. We plan to add product other than forklifts very shortly. Our goal is to have the entire line of material handling goods for your online buying convenience.
