Definition: Bollards

Definition: What are Bollards?

A short post designed to either identify or mark a location is known as a bollard. These signs are used to guide traffic or protect sensitive areas. Bollards provide effective and efficient visual barriers for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. They can be used individually or in series that demarcate extended boundaries.
Used right, bollards play a significant role in regulating vehicle traffic while ensuring clear sight lines and efficient pedestrian flow.
In order to enable bollards to withstand high-impact collisions, these structures can be made using steel-pipe made from structural grade steel. They are embedded and frequently reinforced with concrete.
There are two basic groups of bollards: bolt-down and flexible types.
